Why I Love This Recipe

The oyster omelette, as known as o-a-tsian, o-chien or orh luak is a dish of Min Nan origin that is renowned for its savory flavor in its native Minnan region and Chaoshan, along with Taiwan and many parts of Southeast Asia such as the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia due to the influence of the Hokkien and Teochew diaspora. I like this recipe because it was like a delightful delicacy. Especially, when the omelette complements well with those fresh cooked oysters, they were very tasty. It was like my childhood seafood delicacy meaningful dish in my family life.

Ingredients You'll Need

- 4 eggs

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 12 oysters, shucked and drained

- Salt and pepper

- 1 teaspoon dried parsley

- 1 teaspoon dried thyme

- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder


1. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs the usage of a whisk or fork till they're well blended. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium warmth.

3. Once the oil is hot, upload the shucked oysters and cook for 1-2 minutes, till they are barely browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

4. In the same skillet, warmth some other tablespoon of olive oil over medium warmth.

5. Pour the crushed eggs into the skillet and unfold them frivolously. Cook for 1-2 mins, until the edges start to set.

6. Add the cooked oysters on one half of of the omelette, and sprinkle with dried parsley, thyme, oregano, and garlic powder.

7. Using a spatula, fold the alternative half of of the omelette over the oysters.

8. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the eggs are completely set and gently browned.

9. Carefully turn the omelette to cook dinner the alternative side for an addition10. Once the omelette is fully cooked, cast off it from the skillet and allow it cool for a 1-2 minutes.

11. Slice the omelette into wedges and serve warm. Enjoy your scrumptious Oyster Omelette!
