Why I Love This Recipe
Here's the 'Peach' version of LC's 'Apple' Dews!! I think I like this one better than the apple version, which surprises me because I LOVE apples. Both are great recipes. But there is just something about the peaches in this one!! Sooooo good!!
Ingredients You'll Need
2 packages crescent rolls
Peach slices (I used canned, and two to each roll, but frozen would work fine too or even fresh )
2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp almond flavoring
1 tsp cinnamon (Saigon) (can use nutmeg instead if you prefer)
1 cup of whole milk or cream
Directions
Separate crescent rolls and roll 2 peach slices in each. I don't worry about trying to get the peaches completely covered, just roll them up in the dough and place in the pan. It's fine if the edges are sticking out. Place in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Melt butter, add sugar, flavorings and cinnamon or nutmeg; stir well and pour over rolls. Pour one cup of milk or cream over rolls. Bake at 350ºF for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Kay says: I used fresh peaches and quartered them. Since I just did half the recipe, I also decided to cut the sugar even more. It seemed just a bit much to me and I am glad I did!! It was plenty sweet using just 2/3 c. of sugar. I also was generous with the Saigon Cinnamon and did use 1 stick of butter. Sprinkled chopped pecans over the whole thing!! Yummmmm!!
