Why I Love This Recipe

When in a Chinese restaurant that has satays I always grab some as I really like the peanut flavour on the meats. This is a good make at home sauce.

Ingredients You'll Need

2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups shelled , skinned raw peanuts
1 small onion, chopped
1 garlic clove
1/2 tsp. dried red pepper flakes
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 cups hot water

Directions

Add the peanuts and cook, stirring constantly, until browned - 4 to 10 minutes.

Transfer peanuts to a food processor.

Add the chopped onion, garlic, pepper flakes, ginger, brown sugar and lemon juice.

Puree until very smooth.

Blend in the hot water, adding enough to make a pourable sauce.

Transfer sauce to a saucepan, heat to boiling and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Can be used for chicken kebabs, pork satay, etc.
