Why I Love This Recipe
Finger Food for a Crowd!
Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb. hamburger
1 lb. sausage
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 lb. Velveeta cheese block
1/4 cup tomato sauce (optional)
Cocktail rye bread or white/wheat loaf bread cut into half
Directions
Cook sausage and hamburger together. Drain well. Return meat to pan. Add garlic salt and oregano to mixture, then add the Velveeta cheese. It may be easier to cube the cheese and then add it into the mixture. Spread on bread once cheese is melted into mixture. Toast in oven or toaster oven at 375 for 12-15 minutes. These are best if they are prepared ahead of time and frozen until ready to eat. Just take out of storage bag and place into the oven. For storage I recommend placing onto single layers of aluminum foil, stacked, and then wrapping up with freezer paper.
