Ingredients You'll Need

3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
6-9 slices pineapple (depending on pan)
6 or 9 cherries
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon melted shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla


Melt butter in large ovenproof skillet.
Add brown sugar and stir till melted.
Cover with pineapple slices and put cherries in holes of slices.
Set aside
In a bowl, beat egg lightly and add sugar. Beat well.
Sift flour together with baking powder and salt.
Add milk alternately with flour mixture. Beat well
Add shortening and vanilla as you are beating.
Pour mixture over pineapple.
Cover and bake at 350' for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven turn out cake upside down on a plate and serve.
Add whipped cream if you like to top of cake.
