Why I Love This Recipe

Called the Poor Mans Fruitcake because it has no colored fruit-A rich sensuous dark fruitcake from Germany


Ingredients You'll Need

2 pounds Dromedary Fruit candied
15 oz package raisins
11 ox package currents
7 1/4 oz package dates
1/2 lb orange peel
1/2 lb citron peel
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
Heaping cup of chopped walnuts and pecans
1/2 quarter margerine
2 cups sugar
3 1/2 cups liquid or which 2 cups are black coffee
3 1/ cups flour
1 heaping tsp baking soda


Directions

Let mixture of liquid and fruit boil for around twenty minutes-
If necessary you can supplement candied fruit with dried fruits-
cool mixture


Add Flour and Baking soda


Pour into a big roasting pan lined with aluminum foil (large lasagna pan) and Bake at for 2 hours


Cool and store in covered pan and dose liberally with either rum or Jack Daniels whiskey (bourbon) weekly so it stays moist-
Serve after 1 month-
