Opt- 1/2 Cup diced red and green sweet bell peppers I hardly ever add but when I do its a dif recipe called Fiesta Scalloped Potatoes
Opt- Add 1 - 1 1/2 Cups shredded cheese- I hardly ever add it but when I do its a dif recipe called Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
If you add both peppers and cheese its called Cheesy Fiesta Scalloped Potatoes
NOTE: If not using pork steaks and just making the scalloped potatoes add about 1/2 to 1 stick more butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F
Layer bottom of roaster w/ pork steaks
Peel and slice potatoes and put in bowl covered w/cold water 'till ready to use
Peel and slice onions and put in separate bowl covered w/ cold water 'till ready to use
Strain potatoes and make a layer over pork steaks
Strain onions and make a layer of onions over potatoes
Sprinkle a lil pepper and several shakes of salt over onion layer
Sprinkle a lil cornstarch over onion layer
Repeat Potatoes, onions, salt and pepper and cornstarch until all are in roaster
Pour milk and melted butter in from the sides until barely covering it all but not too close to the top of the pan because if it boils over it will smoke and ruin the whole thing. Better to use 2 pans than fill one too full
Cover and bake until pork steaks are cooked through
Remove pork steaks and put on plate or bowl and cover to keep warm
Stir potatoes and onions
Taste to see if more salt is needed
Turn oven up to 400F and cook uncovered 'till golden brown
