Why I Love This Recipe

Ingredients You'll Need

black tea
milk
fresh ginger
cardamom seeds - fresh green best
black pepper corns
sugar

Directions

In a medium sized pot, put a mix of water and milk. (2-3 times water to milk is usually about right). Make a lot because some evaporates and it's so good, you will want more - it's even good cold as well.

Add black tea, loose or from bags. I use 2 tablespoons of loose tea to make a morning batch but could probably get away with less.

Grate some fresh ginger.

Add the seeds from 8-10 or so green cardamom pods. Tear them open and let the seeds give their full flavor. You can find the green pods in an Indidan spice shop or other places. Shells don't go in the brew but if they happen to fall, doesn't matter because you are going to strain it anyway.

Add a small handful of black pepper corns. I never count but I would guess about a dozen or so.

Add sugar, or sweeten individually. Slightly sweet is part of the experience so I add about 1 tablespoon per each large cup.

Some people add cinnamon or nutmeg... experiment.

Brew for about 5 minutes. If it boils, turn it down. Strain and drink.

That's it. Enjoy!
