Ribbon Meatloaf

Why I Love This Recipe
This recipe was a childhood favorite of mine. It came from my mom's Betty Crocker Recipe Card Library. This is not just ordinary meatloaf!
Ingredients You'll Need
3 slices soft bread, torn into small pieces
1 cup milk
1 1/2 lb ground beef (sometimes I use chicken or turkey)
1 egg yolk
1/4 cup minced onion
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. each of pepper, dry mustard, sage, celery salt, and garlic salt
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 egg white, slightly eaten
1 T water
2 slices soft bread, torn into pieces
about 1/2 cup shredded cheese
Directions
Heat oven to 350 F.
Stir together bread and milk; mix in next ingredients (up to Worcestershire sauce).
Pat 1/2 of meat mixture in greased loaf pan. Prepare cheese filling by combining egg white and water; toss lightly with bread crumbs and cheese. Cover meat mixture with cheese filling.
Top with remaining meat mixture. Bake 1 hr. 30 min.
