Rich Fudgy Brownies

Why I Love This Recipe

These are extra fudgy brownies and very easy to put together.

Ingredients You'll Need

8 oz. (1 cup) unsalted butter; additional for the pan.
3 oz. (2/3 cup) unbleached, AP flour; additional for the pan (I dust with cocoa)
2 cups granulated sugar (14 oz)
4 large eggs, room temp.
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 1/2 oz. (3/4 cup) unsweetened natural cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon table salt


Position rack in center of the oven and preheat to 350*.

Butter and flour a 9 inch square pan.

Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Remove the pan from the heat.

Whisk in the sugar, 4 eggs, and vanilla.

Stir in the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and the salt. Stir batter until batter is smooth and uniform ~ 1 minute.

Spread batter into baking pan and smooth out the top.

Bake till toothpick comes out with a few moist clumps clinging to it, about 40 minutes.

Cool completely in pan on a rack before cutting.
