classic Italian risotto


Ingredients You'll Need

1 c sliced, fresh mushrooms
2/3 c long-grain rice
1/3 chopped green pepper
2 tbsp margarine or butter
1 c chicken broth
1/2 c water
1/4 tsp dried sage, crushed
1/8 tsp pepper
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese


Directions

in medium sauce pan, cook mushrooms, rice, and green pepper in margarine until green pepper is tender


remove from heat


stir in broth, water, sage, and pepper


bring to a bowl; reduce heat


cover and simmer for 15 min or until tender


remove from heat


let stand, covered, for 5 min


fluff with fork


sprinkle with cheese
