Roasted Turkey Legs

Why I Love This Recipe
"We made a Game of Thrones dinner and was told these were the best Turkey legs ever...the glazing would work on any turkey or chicken dish too" ~ Chris & Judy
Ingredients You'll Need
1/2 cup Salt
1/2 cup Sugar
4 Turkey Drumsticks
2 cup White Wine
1 cup Molasses
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1/2 cup Ketchup
2 Tbsp Worcestershire
4 Tbsp Sage
4 Tbsp Thyme
Directions
Oven Temperature: 325°F
*Place the salt & sugar into a large re-sealable bag
*Pour in enough water to cover the turkey legs, and squeeze the bag to dissolve salt & sugar
*Immerse the turkey legs in the brine, and seal the bag. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to brine
*In a saucepan, stir together the white wine, brown sugar, molasses, vinegar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce
*Bring to a boil and cook until reduced by half
*Season with 1 Tbsp sage and 1 Tbsp thyme
*Preheat oven to 325 and remove turkey legs from brine, pat dry with paper towels - discard the brine
*Heat a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat - fry the turkey, turning frequently, until browned on all sides
*Place the pan with turkey into the oven (or transfer to oven safe pan) - roast uncovered for 45 minutes
*Remove and turn legs over - season with some of the remaining thyme and sage, spoon some of the sauce onto the legs to coat
*Return to the oven for an additional 30 minutes - repeat the seasoning and baste with sauce again and return to oven for 15 minutes
*Test for doneness - internal temperature should be 180 degrees when taken with meat thermometer
*Serve turkey with remaining sauce
