Ronnie's Cheesy Mashed Potatoes

Why I Love This Recipe

Nothing could be finer than a nice big helping of cheesy warm mashed potatoes. Soft and fluffy, these are sure to warm you right up on a cold day. Pair them with a grilled steak or eat them alone when no one is looking, either way they are delicious and absolutely braces-friendly.


Ingredients You'll Need

3 Lb. Russet Potatoes ( peeled and cubed, about 6 cups)
1-1 1/4 Cups Half and Half Cream
3 Tbsp. Butter (salted)
1 Tsp. Salt
3 Cups Shredded Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese


Directions

Place potatoes in a 6 qt. stockpot


Add water to cover potatoes and bring to a boil.


Reduce heat and cook uncovered for 15-20 min or until fork tender


Meanwhile, in a small saucepan heat half and half, butter and salt until butter is melted, stirring occasionally.


Drain potatoes and return them to the pot.


Mash potatoes while gradually adding cream/butter mixture and stir in cheese.


add whole mix to a baking dish and sprinkle the top with a healthy handful of cheese and broil for 2 min. until cheese is melted and bubbly.


Pairs Well With

Chives, Bacon, and any type of grilled protein
