This stuffing is savory and the sausage adds pop of flavor as well as breaking up the texture of the breading in the stuffing.
Ingredients You'll Need
- 8 c. (14 oz.) store bought stuffing cubes
- 1 stick butter
- 1.5 c. diced yellow onion
- 1 c. diced celery
- 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 lb. sweet sausage (remove casing)
- 2 3/4 c. low sodium chicken broth
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp. parsley
- 1 tbsp. rosemary
- 1 tbsp. sage
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13" baking dish with butter.
Place stuffing cubes into large mixing bowl.
Melt butter, saute onions and celery over medium heat (8 min.)
Add garlic, cook 2 min.
Add cooked vegetables to the stuffing.
In the same pan, cook the sasauge (10 min.) Add to the stuffing. Add the broth, egg and seasoning to the stuffing and mix.
Bake for 65-75 min. uncovered.
