Ingredients You'll Need
2 (1 lb. 13 oz.) cans pork and beans
1 lb. lean bacon, cut in pieces
2 med. onions, cut in chunks
2 lrg. green peppers, cut in chunks
2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
1 c. ketchup
1 c. brown sugar
Combine all ingredients and put into 2 med.-size or 1 lrg. casserole.
Bake, covered, in slow oven, 325º for 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Uncover the last 30 min. of cooking.
Note: You can use less bacon, but a full pound makes these baked beans unforgettable and a conversation piece whenever served.
