Why I Love This Recipe
These are great for lunch with a side salad.
Ingredients You'll Need
500g lean minced lamb/beef
2 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
Chilli flakes to taste
Salt
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp garam masala
Chopped coriander leaves
1 cup finely diced onion
500g block of ready made puff pastry
1 egg, beaten
Directions
First make the mince. Heat a non-stick pan slightly and add mince. Cook on a medium heat turning the mince often. The aim is not to have large lumps in the mixture.
When the mixture has turned slightly brown, add the garlic, ginger, chilli and salt. Dry fry until the mince has turned brown, which should take about 15 minutes.
Add the lemon juice and cook for a further few minutes. There should be no liquid left. Take off the heat and sprinkle over the garam masala and onion.
Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
Cut the pastry into 16 pieces. Roll each into square measuring about 10cm x 10cm.
Fill each square with some of the mince mixture, wet the sides and fold together. Seal and place on two baking sheets.
Brush with the beaten egg, making sure you do not brush over the sides. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.
