This recipe came from my mother-in-law; she used to make this for holiday celebrations as an appetizer. It was typically the first one that disappeared!
Ingredients You'll Need
1 large loaf of white bread, or sourdough bowl
4 boiled eggs, chopped
1 small onion, diced
1 Cup celery, chopped
2 Cups mayo (I use olive or or avocado oil mayo)
2 cans shrimp (or chicken)
1 can crab (omit if going with chicken salad!)
Directions
Remove crust from bread, and butter slices and cube bread; if using a bread bowl, just remove the "bowl" middle to fill with salad.
Combine eggs and onion, celery and mayo. Salt and pepper to taste.
Add in the protein of choice and bread cubes, refrigerate until cool (overnight is great, but 1-2 hours will do).
