Ingredients You'll Need

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 eggs
1/4 cup pink food coloring
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
For the frosting:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pink sprinkles or edible glitter for decoration


Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the pink food coloring and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in the milk. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients alternately with the milk mixture, mixing until just combined.

In a small bowl, combine the vinegar and baking soda. Fold it into the cupcake batter until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake pan, filling each liner about 2/3 full.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

While the cupcakes are cooling, make the frosting by creaming together the butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.

Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost them with the pink frosting and decorate with pink sprinkles or edible glitter.

Serve and enjoy!

Pink lemonade or a glass of milk for the little ones, or a sparkling rosé for the adults to toast to the birthday girl!
