Easy beef roast that family will love

Ingredients You'll Need

Beef Roast (either Chuck, Top Sirloin or Round), about 10 lb
1 small onion or 1/2 large onion
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
Lipton Beefy Onion soup mix (or French onion soup)
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp cornstarch
1-2 cups water, depending on thickness
Salt and pepper, to taste


Pat roast dry with paper towels and season generously all over with salt and pepper.
Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan on med-high.
Coat top and bottom of roast with flour. Shake off excess.
Carefully place roast into hot pan and brown (about 5-7 minutes on each side). Add additional oil, if necessary to prevent burning.
Carefully place browned roast into slow cooker and turn on for desired time setting.
Quickly mince garlic cloves and dice onion.
In a cup or bowl, combine onion soup mix, cornstarch, minced garlic, and water until mixed well. You may also use a blender or shaker bottle to mix.
Pour onion soup mixture over roast in crockpot.
Add diced onion to liquid around roast in crockpot.
Allow roast to cook until tender. Separate gently with fork.
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes with gravy.
