Why I Love This Recipe

I have a cookie party every year, where I bake hundreds of cookies (and make a few non-cookie treats).

Snickerdoodles are another favorite, and I include them on the menu every year.

Ingredients You'll Need

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening (I prefer the butter-flavored)
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
1.4 tsp salt
2 T sugar
2 T cinnamon

Directions

Heat oven to 400 degrees F.

Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.

Shape dough by rounded teaspoon into balls. Mix the 2 T sugar and cinnamon together. Roll balls in mixture (as a kid, I loved helping my mom with this).

Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes or until aset. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
