Why I Love This Recipe

My best friend told me about this recipe before leaving to teach in Japan for 2years. Every year in August since receiving this recipe I make a special batch for her & my family since it reminds us all of my Granny's Apple Dumplins.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1-2 tsp cinnamon (depends on personal preference)
1 stick Sweet Cream butter, softened (we love salted)
2 Granny Smith Apples (sliced into 8 each...can be skinned if desired)
2 cans Crescent Rolls (8 triangles per can)
12-16 oz can or bottle of Mtn Dew soda drink
A squirt of lemon juice (I only use this if I use the unsalted butter)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees while preparing ingredients

In small bowl, mix butter/sugar/cinnamon/vanilla until well blended

Wrap each apple slice in the crescent triangles until covered completely

Place each wrapped apple in a greased 13x9x2 pan

Once all slices are wrapped, spoon sweet mixture over each wrapped slice

Pour soda over each slice and any remaining liquid around sides of pan

Bake until golden brown & let cool about 5mins

Serve alone or with your favorite scoop of ice cream! Enjoy!
