Why I Love This Recipe
Use a large pan to boil the raisins and you can mix this cake in the pan. This recipe came from my sister in law's friend Gert.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup oil
1 cup water
1 egg
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Bring raisins, oil and water to a boil and cool slightly then add all other ingredients.
Pour into a greased 9" x 13" pan and bake 25 mins. at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost with buttercreme frosting.
Note: This does not make a real high cake.
