Why I Love This Recipe

Here’s a dish that’s just as good for brunch as it is for dinner – pork and beans in a slightly spicy sauce.


Ingredients You'll Need

1 lb. smoked bacon
2 onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 Tablespoons dry mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons golden syrup
1 (28 oz.)can Baked Beans
1 (28 oz.)can Diced Tomato, drained
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tablespoons Tomato Sauce
Juce of 1 lemon


Directions

Cook bacon in a fry pan until well browned. Save grease & crumble bacon, set aside.


Put the onion and garlic in fry pan with grease and cook for 2 minutes.


In a sauce pan mix bacon, onion, garlic, mustard, brown sugar, syrup Baked Beans, Tomato, Worcestershire Sauce, Tomato Sauce and lemon juice.


Stir, cover and simmer gently for about 20 minutes.Serve hot with toast for brunch or with green vegetables for dinner.
