Spicy Gingerbread Cookies

Ingredients You'll Need
2 1/4 C sugar
3/4 C water
3/8 C dark corn syrup (just under 1/2 C)
1 1/4 Tbs cinnamon
2 tsp ground cloves
1 Tbs ginger
2 cubes + 2 Tbs margarine
1 Tbs baking soda
8 C flour
Directions
Preheat oven to 350
Combine sugar, water, corn syrup, cinnamon, cloves and ginger in a sauce pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
Dissolve baking soda in 1 Tbs water, and gradually add to mixture.
Add flour gradually and work until dough is firm.
Divide dough into thirds and roll out on floured surface to 1/8 inch, and cut with cookie cutters.
Bake 8-12 minutes, and cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet. Allow to cool completely before frosting
