Spicy Steak and Mushroom Pasta with Garlic Cream Sauce

In Italian cuisine, it is a common belief that pasta should be served 'al dente', which means it should be cooked to be firm to the bite.

Ingredients You'll Need

8 oz steak, thinly sliced
4 oz pasta of your choice
2 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
Grated parmesan cheese for garnish


Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Season the thinly sliced steak with salt and pepper.

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the steak slices and cook until browned on both sides, then remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are soft and browned.

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Add the cooked pasta and steak slices to the skillet, tossing to coat everything in the creamy garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat everything through.

Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the spicy steak and mushroom pasta in a bowl, garnished with grated parmesan cheese.
