Spicy Tomato Sauce

A healthier alternative to store-bought tomato sauce that's so, so simple to make and delish!
Ingredients You'll Need
1 cup tomato puree
3 mini bell peppers
1/2 jalapeño pepper
1 cup onion
2 garlic cloves
1 tbsp basil plus more for serving
Small handful of mozzarella cheese
Directions
Put peppers, garlic, and onion in a food processor and chop. Transfer to an oiled pot and cook for about 2-3 mins
Add tomato paste and cook for an additional few mins
Add a small handful of mozzarella cheese, if desired (adds thickness and depth) and cook for another 2-3 mins
Add protein of choice (I used roasted red pepper and garlic sausage) and serve over pasta of choice
