Ingredients You'll Need
1 cup sugar
2 heaping Tbsp shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups corn meal
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 good tsp baking soda
1 Tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Raisins may be added
Directions
Mix sugar and shortening together.
Add eggs.
Mix milk, vinegar and baking soda together.
Add milk mixture, flour and corn meal gradually to main mixture.
Bake in a 9 x 13 pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick test is dry.
