Why I Love This Recipe

This is a unique way to serve this summer fruit! The balsamic vinegar brings out the berries' beautiful color and truly enhances their flavor. Great served with a simple pound cake, over vanilla ice cream, or simply by themselves

Ingredients You'll Need

2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and large berries cut in half
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste

Place strawberries in a bowl. Drizzle vinegar over strawberries, and sprinkle with sugar. Stir gently to combine. Cover, and let sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour but not more than 4 hours. Just before serving, grind pepper over berries.

PREP TIME 1 Hour & 10 Min

Questions, Comments & Reviews

Your recipe was a big hit. Everyone loved it and had a hard time believing what the sauce was. I did add blueberries to the mix just for color. Thanks for a truly unique and inspired way to serve strawberries. lucas hess

Interesting combination of flavors. I'll make it for our monthly meeting tomorrow (Saturday) and let you know what everyone thought. Lucas Hess
