Sue's Peanut Butter Balls

Why I Love This Recipe
Cookie Exchange 1994 ~ I selected this recipe because when I was in fourth grade, I met my new best friend, Joey Marie who had just moved to our street with her four siblings. I spent most of my time at their house after school and weekends. Her Mom Joanne made these and I thought the addition of wax was crazy fun!
Ingredients You'll Need
24 oz. bag of Nestle Semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 bar paraffin wax
2 cups peanut butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1 stick butter - soften
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
Double broiler (I use small pan of water underneath a larger pan)
Wax paper
Directions
Mix together peanut butter, powdered sugar, salt, vanilla and butter. Use hands to blend well. Chill in refrigerator for 1-2 hours. Form into small 3/4" size balls and place on waxed paper lined tray. Cover loosely with waxed paper and let set in freezer at least 2 hours to freeze or until hardened.
Fill bottom pan with 2 inches of water and melt chocolate and wax in top
pan.
Remove a few balls at a time so they don't get too soft and dip in
chocolate using a toothpick. Place on wax paper. You can dip the toothpick in chocolate to cover and make a swirl design. Allow at least 15 minutes before removing from paper or freeze until ready to eat. Serve in candy papers.
