Why I Love This Recipe
This is a great football watching chili. Good for topping on a hotdog, also.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
(14.4 oz.) Crisp sauerkraut
1 can (15 oz.) pinto beans
1 can (14 oz.) low-sodium beef broth
3 to 4 tablespoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Heat oil in 3-quart saucepan. Brown meat, onions and garlic. Drain. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, partially covered, for 25 to 30 minutes.
4 to 6 servings
Notes: Rinsing sauerkraut prior to draining removes approximately one-half of its sodium
