Why I Love This Recipe

This makes for a versatile chutney or a dressing which you can use it to drizzle bland canapes, or use it as a dressing to toss veggies or use as a spread for sandwiches.

Ingredients You'll Need

Tamarind paste 3 tbsp
Sugar 100g
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

Mix the tamarind paste in 1 cup hot water.

Add the sugar to the tamarind alongwith the spices and salt.

Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Let the mixture cool a bit and blend in a mixer to a smooth puree.

Strain and use accordingly.
