Sweet and sour spareribs

Why I Love This Recipe
These from our holiday family potluck - and it is a good thing that they are small because we end up with so much to choose from you want to try everything. If you want to leave the rib pieces bigger you can, but I think the smaller pieces make them easier to eat
Ingredients You'll Need
2 lbs spareribs – have butcher cut into 1 inch pieces
½ c cornstarch
¼ c Canola oil
1 garlic clove, smashed
1 onion, diced and carmelized
1 can pineapple chunks, drained
sauce
¾ c sugar
½ c apple cider vinegar
¼ c molasses
½ c soy sauce
1 c pineapple juice
Directions
Parboil spareribs until meat shrinks from the bone and drain well
Coat all pieces with cornstarch very well
Cook garlic in oil until just browned, then remove
Brown sparerib pieces over medium heat
Remove sparerib pieces and pour off excess oil
Combine all sauce ingredients in pan and simmer for about 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved
Add ribs back to sauce, tossing to cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes
Add caramelized onions and pineapple, cooking for another 5 minutes
