Why I Love This Recipe
Ingredients You'll Need
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup mirin
¼ cup sake
¼ cup water
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 garlic cloves
½ inch piece of fresh ginger, thinly sliced
Combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, water, sugar, onion, garlic and ginger in saucepan, bring to boil over medium-high heat.
Boil until the sauce has reduced by half and thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 25 minutes
Remove from heat and pick out and discard garlic and ginger.
Pairs Well With
Grill desired meat or veggies (I grill asparagus or brussel sprouts) and lather sauce on for a delicious Yakitori dish.
