Why I Love This Recipe
Did you know that Texas toast got its name from a restaurant in Texas that sliced their bread too thick for the toaster and decided to grill it instead?
Ingredients You'll Need
8 slices of frozen Texas toast garlic bread
1 cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1-2 cups assorted toppings (pepperoni, diced bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc.)
Directions
Preheat your oven to the temperature specified for your Texas toast garlic bread package.
Spread the slices of Texas toast garlic bread on a baking sheet, garlic side up.
Pre-toast the garlic bread in the oven for 5 minutes, or until slightly crispy.
Remove from the oven and evenly spread pizza sauce on each piece of garlic bread.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
Add your desired pizza toppings on top of the cheese.
Return the tray to the oven and bake for an additional 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the toppings are cooked to your liking.
Serve immediately and enjoy.
