The best buttercreme

Why I Love This Recipe
My father was a pastry chef up until the very end. He would have great big vats of Frosting and ice cakes all day with it. I got to be pretty good myself.
One day I was looking around on the internet and found this recipe. I tweak it a little, but it's pretty much perfect for that really white billowy frosting, just like my dad used to make. It's delicious. Incidentally, it takes coloring very well.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb. butter
1 lb. shortening
3 lb. powdered sugar
1 T plus 1 tsp. vanilla extract*
2 tsp. extract of choice *
Directions
Beat at low speed until smooth.
TIP - I play foot loose and fancy free with the extract. You can use straight vanilla if you like, but lemon, orange or others could work nicely.
