Timothy's Too Much Halloween Candy Chocolate Chunk Chocolate Chip Cookies

Why I Love This Recipe
Sue Quintana - Cookie Exchange 1996 - each Halloween after trick or treating we go through the candy and separate into chocolate and hard candy. After the kids get to enjoy a few pieces, we freeze all the chocolate candies. This year we had lots of candy so we came up with this cookie.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 12-oz. pkg. semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
12 oz. of chopped chocolate left-over halloween candy (if you use caramel type candies they will run but still tastes great)
Directions
PREHEAT oven to 325° F.
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, beating well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and chopped halloween candy. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
