Why I Love This Recipe

The combination of chocolate and alcohol in this recipe creates a luxurious and indulgent treat perfect for celebrating a special occasion.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 cup boiling water
1/4 cup chocolate liqueur
1/4 cup coffee liqueur
1/4 cup vodka
1/4 cup Irish cream liqueur
1/4 cup dark rum

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Gradually pour in the boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth.

Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with the batter and bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cupcakes cool completely before proceeding.

In a separate small bowl, combine the chocolate liqueur, coffee liqueur, vodka, Irish cream liqueur, and dark rum.

Using a skewer or fork, poke several holes in the top of each cupcake.

Carefully spoon the alcohol mixture over the cupcakes, allowing it to soak in.

In a large bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth.

Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until well combined.

Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.

Frost the cupcakes generously with the creamy chocolate frosting.

Serve and enjoy these decadent and boozy Tipsy Chocolate Cupcake Cakes for your 50th birthday celebration!
