Why I Love This Recipe

Made from memory lately, but some things were left out. So here's the actual recipe. A hearty sauce that's so meaty you can use it for sloppy joes if you prefer. Green chilies and green pepper give it character.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 pound hamburger, browned, rinsed and drained
1 large onion, chopped
1 large can tomatoes, diced with juice
1 can mushrooms
1 can green chlies
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup ketchup
Spices to taste: salt, pepper, sugar, oregano, chili powder, and crushed red pepper or Tabasco sauce for a spicier taste.

Combine burger, onion, tomatoes, mushrooms, green chilies, celery, green pepper.

Add ketchup (more if you want a thicker sauce).

Add spices.

Add water if necessary.

Simmer on low for a few hours.

Mash with a potato masher for a smoother sauce.
