"Classic vanilla custard used for puddings and pie fillings."

Serves Makes about 3 cups. | Prep Time 10-15 minutes PT13M | Cook Time 10-12 minutes PT24M | Pudding

Why I Love This Recipe

This vanilla custard is naturally GF and delicious. I use it frequently for puddings and pie fillings.


Ingredients You'll Need

1/4 c. cornstarch
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. cold milk
3 egg yolks
1 1/2 c. milk microwaved for 2 1/2 minutes on high
2 T. butter
1 t. vanilla


Directions

Mix cornstarch and sugar together in saucepan. Add salt, egg yolks, and cold milk. Stir well. Turn heat to medium high and pour hot milk in saucepan. Cook until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla, stir. Cool until just warm before putting in serving cups or pre baked pie crust.
