Vanilla Wafer Cookies

Original recipe was discovered in the Massillon cookbook.
Ingredients You'll Need
1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1/2 t salt
1 t cream of tartar
1/2 t soda
1 t vanilla
1 1/2 to 2 c flour
Directions
Beat shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
Stir in sifted dry ingredients.
These may be made into drop cookies, or use a little more flour, chill, and roll out for cut-out cookies. Also works well to roll dough into a log, refrigerate in waxed paper, and slice.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake.
