Why I Love This Recipe

This is an easy oldie that Mom used to make!

Ingredients You'll Need

6 potatoes, peeled and sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
1 bell pepper, sliced into rings
1 med onion, sliced
1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced (optional, Mom didn't use)
1 carrot, sliced (optional, Mom didn't use)
1 can tomatoes, chunked
1-1 1/2 lb ground beef
salt, pepper & garlic powder to taste

Layer the bottom of a 9 X 13 inch baking pan with the potatoes. Salt & pepper.

Brown hamburger meat with garlic, salt & pepper. Layer over potatoes.

Layer the rest of the vegetables over the potatoes and meat.

Top with can of tomatoes.

Note: Aunt Frankie uses pork chops in her seven layer dinner. Any combination of vegetables would work well in this dish, use the portions that you like.

Bake at 350 degrees F until bubbly.

Pairs Well With

Bread & butter.
