Why I Love This Recipe

I LOVE the flavors of Chinese food, but prefer to make my own (I know what goes into it!!) So, I have experimented with all sorts of flavors and dough, and I discovered a love of Wonton Skins - they are very versatile, easy to use, and can be adapted for sweet or savory dishes, sauteed, deep fried or boiled in a soup. More to come on the savory use of wonton skins.....


Ingredients You'll Need

For sweet/dessert:

12 wonton skins (believe it or not, they are in the produce aisle by fresh herbs)
Any type of filling you like; nuts with cinnamon/sugar, lemon curd, chocolate chips with a sprinkle of cinnamon, blueberry, apple, peach or cherry pie filling, almond paste, et al.
Confectioners sugar or cinnamon/sugar blend
Vegetable oil


Directions

Put a dollop of filling (maybe 1 tsp) into center of each wonton


Brush a bit of water on the rim of the wonton


Form a triangle and press closed (you can fork it as well)


Place into a deep fryer heated to 350 and fry until lightly browned (or use a saucepan and a thermometer).


Sprinkle with confectioners sugar or cinnamon/sugar mixture. Serve warm! YUMMY
