Yellow Rice With pigeon peas ( Arroz con gandules)

Why I Love This Recipe

This recipe is amazing and i learned it from my grandparents

Ingredients You'll Need

-2 cups White Rice

-1 can pigeon peas or fresh!

-Sofrito ( fresh or bought made already)

- 1 packet goya sazon

-1 half can of tomatoe sauce

-Salt and Pepper to taste

-vegetable oil



-Heat a pot or (caldero) with a little oil under medium heat

-Add 1 or 2 spoons of sofrito ( let cook for 2 minutes)

-Add tomatoe sauce

-Rinse rice under running water and the add

-Add beans (pigeon peas)

- Add sazon

-pinch of salt and pepper

- mix together with spoon

- add enough water to cover rice

-bring to a boil and then cover and turn to low heat ( DO NOT TURN RICE YET)

-Let cook for 10 minutes and the uncover and turn the rice gently

- cover again and cook for 10-15 more or until your desires consistancy

-uncover for 5 minutes
