Why I Love This Recipe

this isn't really a recipe but more of a technique so simple but are super good. You can smash them all the way or just smash em a little.always make sure to clean your beans first to check for rocks or bad beans and rinse them with cold water first

Ingredients You'll Need

beans pinto, the best brand i can get is faraon, red and white label
water
salt
manteca(lard)critical for flavor

Directions

i usually use between 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. of beans, put cleaned beans in a deep pot cover with water by two inches or so,bring to the boil the beans will float to the top but don't worry they will stay floating for awhile, reduce to simmer and cover, stir every half hour or so,add salt along the way and taste and taste again, once beans are melt in your mouth soft bring heat back up and cook off some of the water, smash with a masher to your preference i go half and but thats jut me,add about a good tablespoon of manteca but not too much taste again and season more if needed
