Why I Love This Recipe

Here's a simple vanilla cake recipe that includes prep time, bake time, and servings

Ingredients You'll Need

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 ⅓ cups whole milk

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

½ cup softened butter

½ cup vegetable oil

2 cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 large egg whites

Directions

Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 325°F (165°C). Prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by lining the bottoms with parchment paper and lightly greasing the sides.

Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix milk and vanilla. In a separate large bowl, combine butter, oil, and sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and egg whites one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Alternate adding flour mixture and milk mixture, starting and ending with flour. Mix just until combined.

Bake: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
