3 in 1 sugar cookie dough
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons finely grated lemon zest
  1. Whisk together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder and salt; reserve
  2. In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar, vanilla and lemon zest . Mix with an electric mixer set on med-high, best until light and fluffy. With mixer on low, add flour mix and beat until a smooth mixture forms
  3. Divide in half and form each into a ball, wrap in plastic and chill at least 30 min or up to 3 days. Let stand at room temp for 10 min before rolling out
  4. To do color swirls: after chilling and ready to roll, divide into two, color one drop at a time, then separate each color into two again, so you have four. Marry them back into two balls then roll into tube till you have swirls slice and bake. If they get too goopy after the color process, then chill for 30
  5. These bake at 350 for about ten minutes. Use parchment or silicone liners
