APPLE ROLLY POLLY

  • 1 3/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. chopped apples
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt; stir in shortening. Add milk; make a soft dough. Roll out as for biscuits. Mix apples, raisins, sugars, and cinnamon; spread over dough.
  2. Roll as for jelly roll. Cut in 2-inch pieces; put in pan. Pour 3/4 cup water over rolls; bake at 400 degrees about 15 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
