Almond Biscotti

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 1 C. Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/3 C. Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Water
  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Powdered Cloves
  • 2 1/2 C. Flour
  • 1 C. slivered almonds
  • 1 Egg Yolk, beaten slightly
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix together first 5 ingredients.
  2. Sift together cinnamon, baking powder, cloves and flour.
  3. Add to first mixture along with the almonds
  4. Separate dough into 3 parts and roll each part into a rope.
  5. Place on greased or oiled cookie sheet and flatten.
  6. Brush with mixture of egg yolk and water.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until center is slightly firm.
  8. Cool slightly on rack.
  9. Slice diagonally with sharp knife.
