RECIPE BACKSTORY
When I (Brenda) was a little girl I lived down the street in Killarney from a Scotish woman named Mrs. Isabel Patterson. My mom often went to afternoon tea parties at Mrs Patterson's house and if I was lucky I got to come along. I loved to get dressed up for the occasion and sit with the ladies and share the fancy sandwiches and baking. Mrs Patterson's Almond Cookies must have been a common part of these teas since I every time I eat one I remember her and those 1950's teas on 31st Street SW.
