Almond Milk
  • Cooking Time: 10
  • 1c almonds
  • 1/8tsp salt
  • 1 1/2tsp veg oil
  • 2tbs sugar
  1. drop almonds into boiling water
  2. boil 10sec
  3. turn off heat n let stand for 2-3min
  4. drain and remove skins
  5. put skined almonds in blender w/ rest of ingredients
  6. blend 1-2 min
  7. strain through cheese cloth
  8. chill
Simply Heavenly! the monastery vgitarian cook book by abbot george burke [its all vegan though] I want to share this recipe for 2 reasons 1.You dont need cows for milk. you can make dairy substitutes out of not only almond, but cashews, rice, tofu, and of couse soy 2.Also because the book i got it from is no longer published, difficult to obtain, and expencive so im hoping to share many of its for not only vegan and vegitarians, but for people who are looking for heathier food alteritives or mabey just somthing new
